"Have been on Bactrim now for 9 days with the 10th day almost completed, for an intestinal infection. Around day 7, I started feeling achy with a mild fever and chills. I’ve also had some gastrointestinal uneasiness, headaches, and insomnia. Basically the intestinal issue is resolved so Bactrim did it’s job. But others should be aware of the side effects. I have to admit I had not fully informed myself about them. Side effects can be very uncomfortable and I suppose that if they were much worse they even could be dangerous."

"I was prescribed Bactrim (Trimethoprim/Sulfamethoxazole) for my suspected diverticulitis and left lower side pain, even though I'm only 29 and haven't had a CT scan yet. However, I plan to ask my doctors for a scan at my upcoming appointment in five days. I haven't experienced any significant side effects from the medication, despite having anxiety. I've noticed that the pain on my lower left side has decreased since starting the medication, and the combination of a low-fiber and liquid diet consisting of broth, soup, and water has made me feel less bloated, reduced the pain, and given me more energy. I haven't experienced any noticeable side effects, but I'm aware that other medications could interact with Bactrim. To avoid being bothered by side effects, I take my dosage in the middle of the night with a small portion of jello or broth, a bite of toast, and water, allowing me to sleep for another five hours. My next dosage is at 4 pm, which is at the end of the day when I'm relaxing."

"This drug is absolutely horrid! Bactrim makes me feel like I'm walking around in some drug induced stupor. My tongue is irritated, I'm itchy. This drug should be pulled off the market."
